Kasese Catholic Bishop Backs Religious Sisters, Calls for Collective Action Against Human Trafficking

The Bishop of the Diocese of Kasese, the Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira, has called for massive sensitization and awareness campaigns to combat the increasing cases of human trafficking, which he described as not only a criminal act but also an abuse of human rights and a sin before God.
Bishop Kibira described the current form of human trafficking as modern-day slavery, where people are deliberately deceived and lured with promises of good jobs and other opportunities, only to end up working under slave-like conditions.
